Palmikkosukat / Cable socks

Olipa virkistävä tehdä yksinkertaiset palmikkosukat Seitsemästä Veljeksestä! Lanka on tuttua ja turvallista, ei tarvitse laskea vaan antaa mennä ulkomuistista. Nämä sukat menivät muskari-äitikaverille, jonka tiesin pitävän tummanvioletista. Hyvät tuli!



It was so refreshing to knit simple cable socks from Novita 7 Veljestä sock yarn! I know the yarn so no need for stitch count, just knit away. These socks went to a friend I got to know at children's music school. I knew she would like dark purple. Great socks!

Moss braid socks / Sammalletti-sukat

Nämä olivat todelliset pikasukat: kälylle edelliseksi jouluksi kutomani sukat olivat jo puhki, ja minulla oli tasan 36 tuntia aikaa tehdä uudet :) Malli on oma, sama kuin Mustikkaletti-sukat. Näissä sammalenvärisissä letit ovat vain vähän harvempia. Lankana Novitan Jussi, puikot 3.5. Tein sukkiin ranskalaisen kantapään ja kärkeen nauhakavennuksen.

These were real speedy socks: the socks I knitted for my sister-in-law for previous Christmas already had holes in them and I had exactly 36 hours to knit a new pair for her :) The model, which is the same as in Blueberry Braid Socks, is my own. I just made the braids a bit looser this time. I used Novita Jussi Yarn and needles 3.5. I made a French heel and a wedge toe decrease.

Jalmari-sukat / Jalmari socks

Oma malli, johon sain inspiraatiota näistä Kontioista. Tein kolmisäikeisen letin kuudella silmukalla (plus molemmilla sivuilla kaksi nurjaa silmukkaa). Kavensin oikean neuleen viimeisella ulospäin/lisäsin silmukan jalan sisäpuolelle oikean neuleen toisella silmukalla joka letityksen kohdalla eli joka 3. kierroksella.

Puikoilla 3.5 neulottuna miesten sukkiin kokoa 43 Novitan Jussi-lankaa meni noin 140 grammaa.

This is my own model, inspired by these Kontio socks. I made a three-strand braid cable with six stitches (plus two purled stitches on both sides of the braid). I decreased outwards on the last knitted stitch/added a stitch inwards on the second knitted stitch every time I braided the cable, i.e. on every 3rd round.

It took some 140 grams of Novita Jussi yarn to knit men's size 43 socks with 3.5 needles.

Pink Pearl Braid Socks / Vaaleanpunaiset helmiletti-sukat

My own design that has braid with a pearl in the middle and two-strand braid in stretch. The yarn is a Novita campaign yarn Opi Villasukka.

Mustikkaletti-sukat / Blueberry Braid Socks

Mielenrauhan saavuttamiseksi on joskus tikuttava helpot ja nätit sukat. Soveltelin kuuden silmukan palmikkoletistä ja kahden silmukan palmikoista kuvion, joka on molemmissa sukissa jalan ulkosyrjällä. Tein sukkiin ranskalaisen kantapään ja kärkeen nauhakavennuksen, jossa viimeiset 12 silmukkaa on silmukoitu kiinni neulalla. Lankana Novitan 7 Veljestä kaunis purppura, jonka valmistus on valitettavasti lopetettu.

To get clarity and peace of mind, sometimes I have to knit socks that are easy and pretty. This model is my own composition of three-cable braid with six stitches and two-cable braid with two stitches. The pattern is on the outer side of either sock. I made a French heel and a wedge toe. The yarn is Novita 7 Veljestä pretty purple colour scheme that has unfortunately been discontinued.

Cable socks / Palmikkosukat

This is the last Christmas present. I did not want to post it before I knew that the parcel had reached Istanbul. The picture is a bit wonky as my foot size is smaller - in reality these are very pretty socks :D



I used the pattern for long cabled socks at Novita whttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifebsiteonly in the front. The sides and back are in stockinette. I cast on 48 stitches and made a French heel and a round toe.

Alpaca wool socks/ Alpakanvillaiset sukat / Zokni alpakagyapjúból

Now these are quite luxurious woolly socks, if I may say so. This alpaca wool yarn is extremely nice to work with. It's also very soft and warm. Gotta get some more!
